Very good news..

Syvelle returns to practice at full health after suffering a mild concussion during the Tennessee game..

USC head coach Steve Spurrier said Newton enjoyed a solid practice and looks to be ready for Saturday's key SEC home game against No. 12 Arkansas.

"Syvelle had a good day today," Spurrier said. "He was pitching the ball around and running. He looked 100 percent and ready to go."

Newton has completed 88-of-143 passes (61.5 percent) for 1,240 yards with 12 touchdown passes and seven interceptions this season. Three of the interceptions came last Saturday in the loss to the Vols. One of them was returned for a touchdown.

Newton's quarterback rating of 152.28 is third-best in the SEC behind LSU's JaMarcus Russell and Erik Ainge of Tennessee and is 15th-best in the nation.
