I would...

be more excited if he was not already doing one epic production in the form of Start Trek. He has done good things, but now he gets Star Wars? How worn out will he be after Star Trek? Now he will take on the biggest project that there is. Who is to say this will be the last Star Trek? I would have gone with someone like Peter Jackson or a collaboration between the two. There is no right answer I guess.

The bad thing about Abrams

is that the release date will be pushed back now. Well that's good and bad. Good because Abrams is going to do it right and bad because we have to wait longer. Here is a good article to read about some rumors. Female lead in Star Wars? Interesing.

http://screenrant.com/star-wars-episode-7-release-date-2015-2016-cast/

I'm not as big of a superhero fan as some people. Definitely not Superman. I do like the xmen, batman, and spiderman stuff. I'm definitely going to watch the Superman movie. We'll see.

They did remake Carrie as a TV movie. Most of the time those are cheaply done, bad actors especially. Not very highly pulicized (I didn't even know about it until you said). Carrie is a horror that was kind of just on it's own, unlike Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw, ect. I think it will be interesting to see how they outcast her and the way her mom is in a modern day environment. If that's what they are going to do. I just find it interesting.

Not a big...

fan of Superhero movies, cool idea because it seems to be re-imagined like Batman. I never really got into batman either. But I am a fan of zombies as you know. Evil Dead remake? Awesome and from what I understand it is a prelude to an Evil Dead sequel with Bruce Campbell. Big fan of that. World War Z, should be real good. Pacific Rim looks good, the Tom Cruise and Will Smith space movies look good too.

Star Wars? Could talk all day about that. He should do a good job and somebody had to do it. Big question now is what will the story be?

Just curious, why the interest in the Carrie remake? This is actually the second remake isn't it? Lots of very interesting things this year with movies and TV shows. Spartacus is back but I did not watch it yet.

What about the new Superman movie?

Could be interesting. Others that jump out:

Anchorman 2
The Wolverine
New Star Trek
Grown ups 2
Hitchcock
Oblivion
New Diehard
The Iceman (Documentary on this guy on youtube, unbelievible)
After Earth
New Sin City
Movie 43 (saw this one at movies, pretty funny)
Carrie (Very interesting in this remake)
Pacific Rim
New 300
42
Evil Dead
Parker

That's just the first page. There may be a gem or two on the other pages.

By the way, JJ Abrams is set to do Star Wars VII. I like it!

Holy cow...

Only got thru the first couple of pages, but wow. A sequel to 300? Sequel to the wizard of oz, which I knew. Either it's going to be an epic year for movies or for flops.

I saw the life of pi and I thought it was real good, very different.

2013 Movie List

I haven't had a chance to look through the whole thing yet, it's pretty big. Thought you might wanna check it out. Tell me which ones catch your eye.

I agree...

I hate to see it end, but its time. The only thing I will say is that in the books Debrah finds out in the first book. This season, which was great, just looked unnecessary and crammed in. Maybe its just because I know that it was. The producers wanted to end the show and had to get creative. I think it will end, but who knows?

On Spartacus, they just got tired of so much bad stuff happening in real life with the show. Hopefully this is just a new beginning and it takes off again in different format.

I started watching OZ when it first came on HBO, good show. Back then I watched it on HBO and had to try and catch it at the right time. I saw most of the seasons I think. I watched maybe half of the first season of Mad Men, its ok but I did not get hooked. Probably something I will eventually watch.

Interesting

I had not heard that about Dexter or Spartacus. Bad thing is I think this season should be the last for Dexter. I think they have it set to end the right way. If they drag it out they could mess it up.

Spartacus on the other hand I am excited about. I think a spinoff is a great idea.

Not sure about any shows that you haven't already seen. I've heard people talk about Mad Men but I've never seen it. Did you ever finish The Sopranos? What about the show Oz? You've probably already seen that one as well. One comedy that I don't think you've watched is Arrested Development. It's pretty funny and one of those that they cancelled too soon. It had a huge following. So big that seven years after the show ended they are coming out with a new season on Netflix. It's worth checking out.

I think its...

only one season so far, I don't even know if it got re-newed. Three episodes in and its pretty entertaining.

Dexter is coming back early in June this time and they won't confirm this is the last season. Does not mean its not, just the producer said we are not saying yet. Interesting.

The preview videos for Spartacus look real good. The good news on that one is a spin off of Spartacus is coming. I guess the Cesar character from this season is spinning into its own show. I know I will watch it.

Deadwood is good, but I could not stop watching Boardwalk Empire until I chain watched 3 seasons and you know thats not like me. But you do need to watch The Wire first to get hooked on Omar. He plays virtually the same character maybe even better in Boardwalk Empire.

I am running on fumes on something to watch, not much time due to school starting back anyways. But a little something would be great.

I actually have watched it

I only made it through the first season and kind of lost interest. I'm going to pick it back up one day. I thought I had told you about it already but maybe I didn't.

I had finally heard enough about The Wire that I broke down and bought the DVDs on ebay. I got a good price on them however. I paid $55 for a never been opened box set. Check out how much that costs on amazon lol.

My next show after The Wire will be Deadwood. I've heard you talk about it before and it looks pretty good. I'm going to try to get another ebay discount. The trick is to avoid the buy it now sales and be patient. Have a max price that you will spend and stick to it.

Don't forget Spartacus is starting back up this month.

New show...

Lilyhammer, look it up and you will watch it.

Actually...

The biggest problem would be too much to write about. Have you seen some of the trailers for movies coming out? I watched a bunch yesterday, there are allot of good movies coming this year. I watched the impossible and it will keep you glued to it for sure, good movie. I think that is one of Brent's favorite actors, be sure to ask him about it.

Brent's coming over tonight

I'll let him know about it.

First have fun designing it...

Take as much time as we want to get it right. First I like the idea of surfing the net and seeing other cool designs with a combination of those. This site is a scaled down version of some newspaper sites for example. I think it would be fun to learn how to does whatever cool stuff we find. Also a test site in addition to whatever website host we choose. I agree, Brent would be all over it and we could have some good in depth discussion. Again, no deadlines because we all have real things to do. I just think it would be fun for a change.

I'm up for it

And Brent would definitely be more involved. What did you have in mind?

I have an idea...

Football is getting old and we have done everything twice. This site stays up forever, but maybe we could work on a new project. A movie and tv show critic site I was thinking?

I posted, lol.

I read it already...

I thought it was funny, I thought about responding but I didn't. People seem to be very critical of movies lately, according to them the hobbit and man with the iron fists was terrible. I thought both were pretty good. Of course I liked battleship and it got terrible reviews.

It was a good movie

I started a silly troll thread however lol. Check it out

I want to...

Watch The Impossible also, looks like a good movie with OB1.

Have not seen it yet...

Let me know how it is. I watched the hobbit last night and I thought it was pretty good.

No you're right bro...

I really am the referee. It's my call not the refs you are disputing, that way it can be just me and you can be right about everyone in the world. You do know if thats true the ref will be fired? But we agree that it was possibly a blessing and why you won.

Watching Looper

Have you seen it?

It's obvious you just want to argue lol

You're right bro and the rest of the world is wrong once again lol.

Instead of creating the darkest pictures you possibly can where the pole is tilted at a 45 degree angle towards the ball (and it's still not a first down) why don't you find me someone that agrees with you. I can find a whole human population that disagrees with you including Michigan fans lol.

Your zoomed in...

Picture from the same angle looks like a first down. Why, because the sticks appear to be held an angle. If the stick was straightened, it's a first down. But it's not at an angle, it's just zoomed from behind. I think it's pretty clear now you are wrong. So you think it's possible the tip does not exist or it's shorter in the front, lol. Maybe the ball is warped? It's from the side, yours is not and it clearly looks like a first down.

You can't even see the tip of the ball in those pics LOL

"Get me a video from the side, but not the top bottom left". That's what you said in an earlier post. So I get you one from the side at ground level shows the whole ball clear as day and the gap between the tip of the ball and the end of the chain. You then come back with a pic from top left (a terrible one at that)?? I think you're just wanting to argue lol.

In my pic you can clearly see the whole ball not just the half of the ball that is furtherest from the end of the chain. Did you get those pics from Ard? Those were terrible. Like I said, you're the only one in the world that thinks that was a first down.

Doesn't matter, I'm glad the ref missed on the call. Clowney got mad lol.

Even Andrea would agree, lol.

Hey bro, here are some pics from a different angle:

I cannot see...

pictures from file sharing sites at work unfortunately. But the pictures I have seen are zoomed in from a bad angle, they actually look like the stick is at an angle and if straightened its a first down. The article is kind of goofy, says its a replay review and I don't believe this was a replay review was it? Also sounds allot like what the ref said was taken out of context. If he did say that, he will be fired but if Spurrier is saying it and he didn't he will be fined. I bet neither one happens. But in terms of me being the only person in the world, no actually the ref agrees with me. Just like Spurrier agrees with me on Shaw.

It could NOT have been a first down, I never said it was. I only said you cannot tell from that angle and you can't. You win some and you lose some, Clowney could have easily got a flag after the big hit which could very well have been game changing. I definitely don't think he should have, but he could have. Bottom line is you won and so did we.

The defining picture

Here you go, ground level picture no angles involved.

Photobucket

It's not just me that thinks so bro

It's the entire country lol. You are the only person in the world that would even question the fact that it wasn't a first down. Angle or not it's obviously not a first down..

Read what the ref had to say about the blown call lol. Link below.

http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/75098/clowneys-big-hit-defines-outback-bowl

Hate to say it bro....

But you can't tell from that angle, even when it's zoomed in, it looks like the sticks are tilted. It's really just zoomed from the worst possible angle to tell. Get me a video from the side, but not the top bottom left, lol. Sorry bro, it looks like a bigger gap from that angle IMO. I can see why with high emotions you would be excited about it though. One thing for sure, an inch from that angle is not an inch.

I definitely...

agree with him playing them both often. The more experience he gets now, the more likely he is to be successfull when he gets his chance.

I can't disagree with any of that

But I will say that for spurrier to say that both QBs will play early regardless of what's going on says alot about Thompson. He saw enough in Thompson to play him very early in the game without Shaw being injured. We have two good QBs and that's great. Spurrier knows that. I'll go with Spurrier every time as well.

Watch those videos bro. I think I narrated that post pretty good.

Also...

I will go with Spurrier every time, he is not starting Shaw out of the kindness of his heart.

I meant to...

tell you that video's are blocked at work. I will have to look at it when I get home, I can't see me not agreeing with you though.

I guess for me I have had quite a few bad experiences with QB's. Cullen Harper for example looked pretty damn good his first year, pretty bad his second year. I thought Will Proctor was great at the beginning of the season and prolly the worst one ever by the end of the year. Connor Shaw has had not one but 2 record breaking years at Scar in terms of wins. Not sure why anyone would be looking forward to the back up right now. But I guess we will find out eventually? Personally though, I don't know why anyone would be talking about your offense before your defense or any player before Clowney. Clowney is the difference between a decent team and a great team right now IMO.

I know what I've seen

in Thompson's first year of major college football and I'm impressed. The kid is a playmaker and he doesn't hesitate to make a decision unlike Shaw. I can tell you haven't seen much of Carolina this season or you would agree. Both are good but the days where Shaw is the clear starter are coming to a end. Thompson will challenge for the starting job next year, I'll leave it at that.

It was a very impressive win for Clemson. It looked like a completely different defense. They sacked LSU all night.

What did you think about that first down call? I know we all say it every game, that we got bad calls but nothing compares to that one. It would have most likely won Michigan the game as well. I've never seen a call that bad.

And the Clowney hit coming right after. The biggest hit I've ever seen a Gamecock make and it came right after one of the biggest botched calls I've ever seen against us. It was almost like it was scripted bro. I wish you could have seen it real time. A thing of beauty. It's all they keep playing on ESPN and I love it lol.

Yep...

you're crazy. There is more to winning a game than throwing a pretty pass. Connor Shaw is a good game manager and finds a way to win the game. There is no guarantee Thompson is going to do that, if he throws 3 pretty passes and comes away with no points, Connor Shaw throws 5 ugly passes and runs in like Indiana Jones running from the natives and scores a TD for example he is better. Thompson could be the next Joe Montana, he also could be the next Chris Smelley, which one you think is more likely? You know where you stand with Shaw and no matter what anyone says, you don't until Thompson starts for a season (sometimes they look great at the beginning and terrible by the end). The verdict was out on Boyd for quite a while, more than one season in fact.

I don't know about your game, but some calls went Clemson's way and some did not. At least one interference that should not have been called and one on the last drive that was pretty blatant. I think it evened out in the end. Shockingly Clemson just wore LSU out, I should have started by saying I was totally wrong. I was almost ready to turn it off after the first 5 minutes because I thought it was going to be worse than I thought. I was totally wrong, they really just wore them down, and Clemson's DL was off the charts. Not sure what they did differently to prepare on defense, but it needs to continue. I am so surprised its even hard for me to believe now, they looked like the opposite of what was expected for me.

I don't have any doubt

that beating LSU was better than winning the ACC and beating up on NIU. Clemson's win was very impressive and you should be excited about it. I know I'm happy about the Carolina bowl win. I know you didn't get to see it but it was a damn good game. Very exciting and it came down to the wire. Shaw went out after getting a little banged up and Thompson had to come in in a clutch situation. With 17 seconds left in the game he threw a perfect pass to Bruce Ellington that I've provided below. Call me crazy bro but I find myself wanting to see Thompson more than Shaw. He's good.

Before that there was some high drama on a play where the ref gave Michigan the first down where it was clear that there was an inch between the nose of the ball and the end of the chain. I've never seen a call that was botched that bad bro. Spurrier went apeshit crazy with good reason. Here is a video of the botched call. Sorry I can't find a better video but you can definitely see it. This was a 4th down play by the way where we would have got the ball if not for the botched call.

I was pissed and apparently so was Clowney lol. This next video is of the very next play in the game after they gave Michigan that first down. This is the best case of karma I've ever seen in a football game. Man I'm gonna miss this guy after next season lol.

WOW!

Fantabulous wins for both Clemson and Scar. I told Brent this was prolly bigger than winning the ACC for Clemson. A win like this could actually be a turning point for a team. But unfortunately it could go in either direction, at least the up direction is a possiblity now?

Actually I have not seen that movie, I will definitely check it out. I thought Taken 2 was real good, as good as the first maybe? I like the man with the iron fist as well. Its a remake of the old kung foo movies by QT. If you go into it with that expectation I don't see how you could not like the movie. If you are dumb enough to try and take it seriously or whatever people do, you probably won't like it.
