Possible that two 5 star prospects will commit to South Carolina this week!!

Carlos Dunlap and Chris Culliver are set to make their decision.

Signs point to both being Gamecocks, but not as sure about Dunlap.

5 star WR/SS Chris Culliver will announce his decision this Wednesday at 12:00 and 5 star DE/DT Carlos Dunlap will announce his decision tomorrow (Monday) at 5:00.

Carlos Dunlap is ranked as the 5th best player in the nation regardless of position, and the #1 DE in the nation, strong side or weak side.

Chris Culliver is ranked as the 19th best player in the nation regardless of position, and the 3rd best WR in the nation.

This class for Carolina just keeps getting better and better! There is also word that we have a 4 star LB named Josh Bynes that silently commited to Carolina this weekend during his visit. Josh Bynes is ranked as the 6th best ILB in the nation.

South Carolina's recruiting class is currently ranked 7th in the nation. With the commitments of two or even one 5 star(s) we could move into the top 5!!!!

If you didn't think Spurrier could recruit at South Carolina he proved you way wrong. It is hard to imagine what kind of success this type of talent can have under Steve Spurrier. A definate SEC championship I can promise you that! SEC championship=BCS bowl or maybe even National Championship!! I can't wait to see whats going to happen, but all I can do right now is sit back and enjoy the ride..

Clemson loses two coaches and Willy Korn falls to 4 stars..

RB coach Burton Burns has left the Clemson program to assist Nick Saban at Bama. LB coach Ron West has left to coach at WVU. Both coaches will be coaching the same positions at these programs.

Willy Korn has dropped from the 25th best player in the nation all the way to 98th. With the large drop, he lost his 5 star ranking. He also dropped to the 4th best dual threat QB, behind Stephen Garcia which is ranked as the 90th best over-all player in the nation.

Tough week for the Tigers..

Go ahead and add 2 more for Carolina!

Four star WR Dion Lecorn and 3 star SS Antonio Allen make it official!

The long anticipated commitments to USC by teammates DB Antonio Allen (6-1 195) and WR Dion Lecorn (6-0 205) of Ocala, FL were made Wednesday afternoon. Both players visited USC in early September and had been strongly favoring the Gamecocks since then. "It feels great," Allen said. "I never thought I'd be going to a D-1 school. I'm proud of myself." Allen had 107 tackles and 5 interceptions this season. Lecorn was equally happy with the way things have worked out. "It feels real good," Lecorn said. "It's an honor for a receiver to play under coach Spurrier. There's a lot of people proud of me. Coach Spurrier Jr. said I will have a chance to play a big role next year."

Other notes: Carolina's recruiting class has now jumped to 7th in the nation! Chris Culliver just made the jump to 5 star status, and he is expected to commit to Carolina early next week. Carlos Dunlap recently jumped to the 5th over-all ranked player in the nation, and Carolina is expecting his commitment to the Gamecocks to become public very soon. 7th in the nation!!!

Another 4 star lineman makes it official for the Gamecocks!!

Clifton Geathers makes his commitment to the Gamecocks known publicly

DE Cliff Geathers (6-8 275) of Hargrave Prep, VA and Carvers Bay confirmed Wednesday what has been known for several weeks....he will enroll at USC for the spring semester. "Everything is behind me and it feels great," he said. "South Carolina is a rising team. South Carolina probably has a better chance to win the SEC than Georgia (to whom he committed out of high school). I was lifting weights one day and thinking about it, and something just told me to go to South Carolina." Geathers could play defensive end, defensive tackle or offensive tackle with the Gamecocks. "I've got a great chance to play te position I want to play, defensive end," he said. "I like the way the way they play their defensive ends. I also have a good chance to play defensive tackle." Geathers said he gave the Gamecocks his commitment while making an unofficial visit for their first bowl practice. He said he might room with his former Hargrave teammate Ladi Ajiboye at USC.

Blake's notes: Geathers was a 5 star athlete coming out of high school (2006 class), but being placed in a prep school dropped him to 4 stars. He committed to UGA after signing day last year despite heavy pursuit by Carolina and Clemson. He could play at any position on the O-line or D-line in college. Glad this kid is a Gamecock! This Gamecock class is unbelievable!!
