Might as well talk a little football

I guess I could name a couple of surprise players so far in camp. RB Jamari Smith and WR Kane Whitehurst have been talked up a little after three practices. Smith is a guy that has a pretty good HS film and the coaching staff seems to be high on him. Problem for him is being behind Brandon Wilds and Mike Davis on the depth chart. Not to mention 4 star David Williams also coming in at the same time. I think they have been surprised a little bit by his ability.

Kane is a guy I've told you a little bit about. He's Charlie's cousin. He was a scholarship player at Arkansas but got into some trouble and left the team. He showed up at Carolina and ran in the 4.3/4.4 forty range and earned a walk on spot. They say he has been able to get behind the defenders well. He has also practiced a lot on special teams. You know how things go with these walk-ons (even though he was on scholarship at Arky) in fall camp, talk is cheap. I will say that I hope to get to see him play some. A white boy with speed like that is always fun to watch. Not to mention him being Charlie's cousin makes for an interesting story. I added a video of him below if you get a chance to watch.
