While I won't hype anyone up to shock the nation, I definitely know where you are coming from. It is a good sign that you are getting excited about the season. For a while there you were all doom and gloom.

I will admit that I am more cautiously optimistic about Carolina's incoming freshmen. One of them however gave me my first adrenaline rush of preseason football during a Carolina media day interview. Demiere Byrd was questioned about how Spurrier had claimed that he has been very good at catching the deep ball. He was asked about how big of an adjustment it is from catching the "high school" deep ball and "college" deep ball. He went on to say that it is a lot different. The deep passes are coming from 60 and almost 70 yds at times in college but it's not as bad as many claimed that it would be.

Right then I had a day dream of Byrd ten yds past his defender, running it in for a TD. Long stretch I know for a true freshman but it got me wishing the season was starting tomorrow. I'm ready.

By the way, I will give fair warning that Byrd has the same speech impediment as Lou Holtz lol.
