Like I said

about the OTs for Carolina, it is what it is and we won't truly know until they play the games. It's the same starters we had last year and no they were not great but they wasn't bad either. I would say that they were average. Hopefully they've improved. The only thing I can tell you about Shell's work ethic is that it was good enough to earn him consensus freshman All SEC honors..

You're probably right about the cross-training, I'll let Bama know immediately what you think so that they can scrap what they are doing and try a different approach. In real life, outside of the clem world, cross-training offensive linemen is a very smart thing for a coach to do. Caldwell needs break free from his traditional ways and follow this procedure. Coach Elliot's idea is that you should let each player on the OL learn at least 2 positions because it helps them see the whole picture. The best 5 should start. Your backup center might be the fifth best player but if he hasn’t learned those other positions he won't he won't have a chance to help the team. That’s why it’s important for linemen to learn those other positions. Not sure why you think this is such a bad idea..

Looking at clem's depth chart you must be seeing something different in your OTs than I am. Behind your starters I see a couple of very undersized freshmen.  I agree with you about Robbie Caldwell, he is a good coach (would be better if he made his linemen learn more than one position). He was great at Vandy. Let me tell you this, I have never seen a Caldwell coached Vandy OL as bad as clem's was last season. One of the reasons Boyd's performance against LSU was so great is because he was absolutely destroyed in that game and kept getting up and making plays. We all know what happened when your OL faced Carolina's DL lol. I'll use one of your favorite phrases concerning Caldwell and your OL: Caldwell can polish a turd all he wants but at the end of the day it's still a turd..
