Fortunately Clemson does have an ace in the hole as far as TE. Eric Maclain was recruited as a TE but the coaches wanted to move him inside. He gained the necessary weight to play LT and was good enough there to even be pushed to the #2 spot at that position in the post-spring depth chart. He is at 260 lbs now and may not be much in the passing game but he could easily serve as a blocker at TE in passing situations.
