Money

That is the biggest reason. You bring up 20 years ago like it relates to today. Was the SEC that attractive back then? I know they didn't have a ESPN deal then lol.

FSU's recruiting is enough to compete in the SEC. SEC will help recruiting even more. May even pass UF in recruiting. As you said FSU is on the rise and if there is a time to make a jump it is now or never for any team really.

The fear of being left behind in a venerable football conference as the football landscape stands.

Throw on top all of the reasons not mentioned that would make Clemson jump to the SEC.

By the way, I don't care what the president, AD, or bot says at this time. What are they supposed to say? Yes we are wanting to join the SEC? What if the SEC decides they don't want them and decides to go in a different direction? What happens if it doesn't work out and they are stuck in a conference that hates them after showing interest in another conference? I think they are smart enough to stay hush until the deal is pretty much made.

Again we disagree on the subject and I said my peace. Feel free to make your comments and opinions but I prefer to sit back and watch. I learned my lesson with the Texas to the PAC 10 deal last year. Fool me once right? I won't believe anything until I see it. Even the A&M deal to a certain extent as far along in the process as that seems to be.
